Addressing the Financing Needs of Small Businesses

To explore the contraction of small business credit during the Great Recession, the Federal Reserve Banks held more than 40 meetings with stakeholders across the country. This meeting series was the precursor to a concerted effort by the Reserve Banks to collect primary data on small business financing needs and outcomes, resulting in the creation of the Small Business Credit Survey.
