Become a Partner

To disseminate the Small Business Credit Survey each year, the Federal Reserve Banks collaborate with a network of local, regional, and national organizations, referred to as “partners,” that have strong relationships with small-business owners. Partners encourage their networks of small-business contacts to respond to the survey.

Benefits of becoming a partner

Becoming a partner can have direct and indirect benefits. Partners that recruit at least 50 small businesses to respond to the survey will benefit directly by receiving benchmark reports that compare the experiences of their small-business networks with those of other small-business owners. Many organizations that serve small businesses can also benefit indirectly by having the voices of small businesses in their networks heard. Their responses strengthen the overall survey, which is disseminated widely and enables the Fed, our partners, and the public to gain a better understanding of the key issues that small businesses face.

How to become a partner

1. Interest

If your organization is interested in becoming a partner, please fill out the contact form below. Our team will confirm your organization’s eligibility and contact you with more details shortly. For more information on qualifying organizations, read our Partner Policy. You can also see a list of our participating partners for the 2023 survey.

2. Distribution

When the survey opens in early September, we will provide you with an agreement to digitally sign that outlines how to distribute the survey. After the agreement is signed, we will provide you with marketing materials, along with a unique survey link to collect responses specifically associated with your organization’s survey-recruitment efforts.

Once you receive these tools, you can use them to promote the survey to your network of small businesses! This can be done by sharing the survey through a call-to-action email, newsletters, webinars, or other communication channels you typically use.

Our team will also answer any questions you may have about sharing the survey with your network of small businesses. If you come to us through a Reserve Bank contact in your District, you may also reach out to them with any questions.

3. Results

After the survey closes, our team will keep you apprised as we develop analysis and reports from the survey results. Data undergo cleaning and quality checks before being used to develop public reports on small-business credit conditions and partner reports throughout the first half of the following year. Please be patient with us; obtaining good insights takes time!
