The Small Business Credit Survey (SBCS) provides data across individual metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) when sample sizes permit. Given that every area has a unique entrepreneurial ecosystem, MSA-level data provide useful insights for local researchers and policymakers regarding the specific challenges that small business owners are facing in their area. The SBCS chartbooks complement analyses from regional Reserve Banks on business conditions for select MSAs.
