Overview
The Small Business Credit Survey (SBCS) is administered every fall across the United States as a collaboration of all 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Reporting and data products are released throughout the following year and cover special topics that vary by survey cycle.
The Federal Reserve conducts research on small businesses and other key economic sectors as part of its role in supporting a healthy economy. SBCS reports and data products are part of broader small business research across the Federal Reserve System.
As the only source of nationally representative data on the demand, experiences, and outcomes in the small-business credit market, the SBCS fills a gap in the small-business data landscape.
The survey data and reports focus attention on small business' performance, challenges, credit experiences, and issues in different industries and places.
